* "The Screwtape Letters" – The stage adaptation of the C.S. Lewis allegorical novel describing the battle of good versus evil is performed at 4pm Sat. June 15 at DeVos Performance Hall on Monroe Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids. Actor Brent Harris in featured in the title role. Directed by Max McLean. The play is suitable for ages 13 and up. (Children under age 4 will not be admitted). *Damaris Carbaugh – The veteran gospel singer performs at 7pm Sat. June 22 at Maranatha Bible Conference, 4759 Lake Harbor Rd. in Norton Shores. A long-time recording artist with the Grand Rapids-based Discovery House Music, Carbaugh was also a soloist with the Grammy-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and Singers. She has recorded more than a dozen albums, including a collection of her best known songs. In more recent years she has also developed a speaking and teaching ministry. *Resurrection Life Praise Team – The Rockford church ensemble leads the music at "Praise in the Park" at 6 p.m. Sun. June 23 at Garden Club Park in downtown Rockford. The event is part of the summer-long series featuring area church music groups. Garden Club Park is just off W. Bridge St. east of the dam along the Rouge River. There is no admission charge, bringing your own seating is encouraged. Other church praise teams on the schedule include Grace Fellowship Church (July 1) and The Tribes Church (July 21).
