Emmy Award Winner Mark Fincannon to speak at GR film college

compass22Local film college Compass College of Film & Media is hosting three free events aimed at trying to bring Hollywood to Grand Rapids to help students cultivate relationships and learn from the industry's best and brightest.

Events are as follows:

May 19 Faith & Film Event – public meet & greet

Attendees can hear and meet Casting Director Mark Fincannon who has helped numerous films, TV shows, actors and actresses have successful career experiences. He will share stories about how he does this and will also host a Q&A and networking time afterwards. He will share how he learned to walk out his faith in the entertainment industry, which is one of Compass's missions.

May 19 – Women in Film & Faith – Public event

Guests will hear and meet Emmy Award Casting Director Mark Fincannon and his wife Sharon Fincannon who has helped numerous films, TV shows, actors and actresses have successful career experiences. They will share and discuss some of the unique aspects of staying strong as female professionals who are developing their entertainment careers while pursuing their faith. There will be a Q&A and networking time. This is also one of Compass' missions.

May 20 Q&A with Mark Fincannon – How to help Directors, Producers, and Actors and Actresses succeed in their careers.

He will shar how he works with Directors and Producers to select the right actors and actresses to provide a higher potential for success; provide an overview of the Casting Directing process and share what Actors and Actresses need to do to succeed in casting. There will also be a Q&A and networking time afterwards. Compass' goal is to help our Michigan entertainment professionals and students learn from major professionals and build network relationships to improve your careers.
