*John Mulder – The West Michigan singer-songwriter-physician performs on a bill with the Southern gospel quartet Down East Boys at 6pm Sun. Sept. 9 in Ferrysburg Community Church, 17785 Mohawk Dr. in Spring Lake. Mulder, a palliative care doctor with Faith Hospice, has recorded several inspirational albums and has shared the stage with country-gospel artists such as Buddy Greene and Tricia Walker. His latest recording is "Joy Wins." The Down East Boys' current gospel hit song is "Beat Up Bible," a version of a song by the country group Little Big Town. There is no admission charge, an offering will be received for the church youth group.
*Kim de Blecourt – The West Michigan author-speaker-orphan advocate officially launches her latest book, "I Call You Mine: Embracing God's Gift of Adoption" at 7pm Thurs. Sept. 13 at Baker Book House, 2768 E. Paris Ave. SE in Kentwood. The book is a six-week study which offers scriptural and experiential insights on our adoption as God's children. It has been endorsed by the likes of Jim Daly (president of Focus on the Family) and Jedd Medefind of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. *"Rejoice: A Celebration of Choirs:" Choirs from Madison Square Church, New Hope Baptist Church, Grace For the Nations, Resurrection Life-Grandville and the Muskegon-based community ensemble Brandon Davis & Victory in Praise join in this special event at 7 p.m. Sat. Sept. 29 in the Madison church, 1441 Madison Ave. SE in Grand Rapids. The concert is a benefit for the Madison church delegation to Liberia, Africa for which an offering will be received.
