Andy Mineo – The nationally-acclaimed Christian hip-hop artist headlines "The Movement," a youth gathering 7pm Thurs. May 17 at Grand Rapids First, 2100 44th Ave. SW Wyoming. Special guest is speaker Jarrett Stephens, emcee is George Moss. The event, geared for jr. and sr. high school students, is associated with CityFest West Michigan, which culminates with a Sept. 8-9 visit from evangelists Andrew and Luis Palau. Admission is free. "Red Big Fire Truck" – This family-friendly film is shown at 6pm Sat. May 19 at Baker Book House, 2768 E. Paris Ave. SE. The plot traces the life of a young boy whose parents died when he was an infant. He was sent to an orphanage and then to a series of foster homes. A search to find past family connections leads to him to the story of a hand-carved, toy fire truck. The truck, hewn from a fallen white sycamore tree, turns out to bring some magical discoveries. The Ball Brothers – The youthful gospel quartet performs at 6 p.m. Sun. May 27 kicking off the summer series at Sandy Pines Lakeside Chapel, 3630 26th St. (south of 142nd Ave.) in Dorr. The quartet, anchored by brothers Andrew and Daniel Ball, has the hit song "It's About the Cross" and features a new album titled "DYNAMIC." No tickets necessary, a free-will offering will be received Bringing your own lawn chairs for seating is recommended.
