EVENTSWest Michigan Christian News writer Terry DeBoer surveys the landscape for the area's faith-based arts/entertainment/enrichment events over the coming month. Here are three highlights for February:

*Forrest Wakeman – The area composer/arranger/teacher/church music director and his band present a concert of original music at 7:30pm Fri. Feb. 2 in Matthews Performing Arts Center in the Wood Seminary Building at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids. On the program are songs from Wakeman's recent release "Messes to Miracles" as well as premier performances of several new songs. In his band are several area worship pastors and worship team artists. The concert is sponsored by the C.U. Music Department. Admission is free. "Celebration of the Arts" – The annual church visual and performing arts program runs from Feb. 10-20 at First United Methodist Church, 207 E. Fulton in downtown Grand Rapids. Included are an open-to-the-public art exhibit featuring more than 100 artworks, music in worship from The River Rogues at 10:45am Sun. Feb. 11 and The Girls Choral Academy at 10:45am Sun. Feb. 18; and a "Mystical Songs" concert with baritone Jonathan Bratt Carle and organist/director of worship Eric Strand at 3pm Feb. 11. There is no admission charge. *The King's Choraliers – The mens' choral group presents two concerts during the month of February – 7pm Sun. Feb. 11 at Cedar Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 2025 Baldwin St. in Jenison; and another concert at 5pm Sun. Feb. 25 at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids. The ensemble, directed by Richard Rogers, features a repertoire which includes spirituals, anthems and hymns sung in a variety of styles. With more than a half century behind it, The King's Choraliers has taken as its theme, "O Worship The King." Both concerts are free of charge. For more information visit www.thekingschoraliers.com
