*At The Foot of the Cross – The day-long Christian music event returns for a third year – now at a new location: noon to 7 p.m. Sat. Aug. 15 on the grounds of Family of Christ Church, 1100 Henze Dr. NW (west of Alpine) in Comstock Park. A variety of area Christian music artists are participating including singer Sydney Chu, rapper Ty Gonzalez, and the band Carpenter’s Cross. No admission charge, bringing seating is encouraged. *Guy Penrod – The inspirational/gospel soloist and former member of the Grammy-winning Gaither Vocal Band performs at 7 p.m. Sun. Aug. 23 at the Hudsonville Community Fairgrounds at 5235 Park Ave. in Hudsonville. A Texas native and a pastor’s son, Penrod’s has recorded five solo albums. His most recent studio CD is a collection of worship songs – from the traditional “Victory in Jesus” to the contemporary “10,000 Reasons.” The concert, which helps kick off the community’s annual fair week, has no admission charge. *Hark Up Brass Choir - The instrumental ensemble performs at 6 p.m. Sun. Aug. 30 under the big tent at Pine Grove Community Church, 8775 88th St, five miles west of Howard City. Musicians from the Hark Up organization have performed at a wide variety of events with a deep catalog of music, and anchor the annual “Hark Up Christmas” show each December at DeVos Center for Worship and Arts (www.harkupmusic.com).
