Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas is a Winner!
Kirk boldly states, "I love Christmas!" from the start. He begins by saying that some people want Christmas toned down, while others think that looking at a Christmas tree, and enjoying Santa, and buying presents are not worthwhile experiences. He disagrees and argues, convincingly so, that they all add to the celebration of the birth of the Christ child. His brother-in-law in the film, Christian, is a killjoy Christian. Christian doesn't share the love for Christmas like his wife, Kirk's sister. Kirk has a heart-to-heart with Christian and teaches him interesting things such as the biblical reason for a tree, and that sharing gifts and celebrating are indeed based on biblical ideas. Kirk examines, from a biblical perspective, the swaddling clothes of Jesus as seen in various nativity scenes. He shares a history of St. Nicholas, who is, as we know, the basis of and the inspiration for our Santa Claus. St. Nicholas stood firm in his Christian faith by standing up to a heretic and giving gifts to the poor. The movie has a powerful ending, concluding with a joyous celebration with Kirk, Christian, and their families and friends. A little hip-hop music is featured.
This is the perfect movie to watch to kindle the Christmas spirit. It will hopefully encourage viewers to see past busy stores, hectic days and long lines, and spending more money than usual. Christmas is a time to celebrate and that's what Kirk and his family do—they eat and laugh and toast one another (with apple cider and Welch’s grape juice). This is a wholesome yet potentially life-changing movie experience. From the same Christian man that appeared in Fireproof and Unstoppable, Kirk Cameron has produced another winner!
This Christmas, have your family join with Kirk Cameron’s family and dive headfirst into all the dancing, celebration, feasting, imagination, and traditions that glorify the true “reason for the season.” "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas" provides a biblical basis for our celebrations, and the inspiration to stand strongly against a culture that wants to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this holy season. So take in the splendor; take in the majesty; take in the story. Take it all in … and let’s put Christ back in Christmas.
"Saving Christmas" is the perfect viewing experience for the Christmas season! It opens with Kirk Cameron sitting by a fire place and surrounded by decorations. He speaks of his love for the Christmas season and that love includes the fire place, the Christmas tree, and drinking hot chocolate. However, it goes much deeper than that. He shares that all the trappings are a part of the true celebration, the fact the Christ child came to save mankind. If you know any old Scrooges this time of year or someone who has "Bah, humbug!" on their lips, encourage them to see this film.
