*“The Discredibles” – That’s the title of the dinner-theatre production at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 and 8 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 9 (drama only) at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church, 6727 Kuttshill Dr NE, Rockford. This original play (the title is a spoof on “The Incredibles”) features an unlikely band of underworld villains who plan “comic capers” of crime while dodging the authorities and creating all sorts of international chaos. The comedy is directed by Blythefield director of worship ministries Vicki Modert. Dinner theater tickets are $15, theater-only on Nov. 9 are $3 and $2. * “Sanders Family Christmas” – The comedic, family-friendly play with plenty of down-home music is part of the popular “Smoke on the Mountain” trilogy featuring the lovable Sanders clan of rural North Carolina. The setting is December, 1941 and young Dennis Sanders is soon to report for service in World War II. Local actor Chris Knobloch reprises his role as Dennis in the production, which Master Arts first staged 10 years ago. Opening night is Nov. 21, and the play runs through Dec. 14; 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $18 adults, $16 students and senior citizens. * TobyMac – “Worship, Stories and Songs” – The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter headlines an “unplugged” evening of music and the spoken word at 7 p.m. Sun. Nov. 23 in DeVos Performance Hall in downtown Grand Rapids. The event is expected to be toned down from his usual boisterous stage shows. Toby’s newest recording is a remix of songs, several from his popular “Eye On It” release including “Speak Life.” Also on the bill is singer-songwriter Matt Maher ( and newer artist Ryan Stevenson.
