The Singing Contractors - The builder/remodeler-turned singing group performs at 6 p.m. Sun. Sept. 5 at Sandy Pines Lakeside Chapel, 3630 26th St. (south of 142nd Ave.) in Dorr. The duo – Josh Arnett and Aaron Gray – was "discovered" when a video of their singing went viral. They eventually affiliated with Bill Gaither and his video/recording label. No tickets are necessary; a free-will offering will be received. Gates open at 5pm. Bringing your own lawn chairs for seating is recommended. "Rockin' Ravenna" – The Christian music concert/family-friendly event is set for 5pm Sat. Sept. 18 at Conklin Park on Blackmer Rd. in Ravenna MI. Co-headlining artists are singer-songwriters Matt Moore and Joe Guerra (for more on Guerra see our article at http://www.westmichiganchristian.com/local/1136-exploring-the-heart-s-wasteland.html). Also on the bill are the Muskegon-based band Steeple Hill and hip/hop artist TVNK. Event is sponsored by the youth group of First Reformed Church of Ravenna. "Spreading the Fragrance of Life" – This daytime conference is presented Fri. Sept. 24 at Friendship Christian Reformed Church, 190 100th St SE in Byron Center, MI. Keynote speaker is Dr. Lynn Wilder, a former professor at Brigham Young University who with her left husband left Mormonism to embrace the God of the Bible as detailed in her book "Unveiling Grace." Registration begins at 9am. There are morning and afternoon sessions, with worship time. With lunch, cost is $37; without lunch $25. Hosted by Bible League International.
