Mincing Words

by Dan Seaborn

dan seabornHere are three. And three more. Now two. One.

How many words do you use in a day? Or how many do you type? Or how many do you think? How many do you hear and see?

Studies would tell you that the counts are in the thousands for each of us: words, words, words, all the time and everywhere. And even though through texting we don't spell out words as much, we are still thinking about the whole word. There are words on billboards, words all around the coffee cup, words set to music, words scrolling the screen, words carved into the bathroom stall.

by Jeffery Carlson

angerHave you ever wanted to change something in yourself or others? It could be an anger problem or a judgmental spirit that is really bothersome to us or others. Finance: Dave Says....

Dear Dave,

I've had a judgment filed against me for an old, unpaid medical bill. The original amount was $2,500, but now it has increased to $3,200. Can I negotiate this with the lawyer? I've asked him for a detailed statement of the account several times, but all I've gotten is a payment booklet.

Etcetera: Wake Up - Next Week

WAKE UP! is a multiple-day revival that will take place over four consecutive evenings in Holland in May of 2016. This event will feature national speakers, but it will be simple and the focus will not be on anything other than worshipping God through music and hearing His Word preached. WAKE UP! is an opportunity for believers to be renewed and challenged as well as for non-believers to be invited to follow Christ. WAKE UP! is nondenominational and nonpolitical. It isn't about anything other than calling people to Christ and inviting them to WAKE UP!

Final Words:

"Nothing paralyzes our lives like the attitude that things can never change. We need to remind ourselves that God can change things. Outlook determines outcome. If we see only the problems, we will be defeated; but if we see the possibilities in the problems, we can have victory."

Warren Wiersbe

"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."

Colossians 4:5-6
