By Paul R. Kopenkoskey

Degage Pauls Moms Cookies Cutline No. 1On Saturday mornings, Kristie Newkirk and Karen Petchaucr stand underneath a canopy along with Calvin College intern Meghan Bogema at the Rockford Farmers Market selling what is arguably some of the tastiest homemade cookies in West Michigan.

Finance: Dave Says....

I grab quick meals between shifts and on the way home because I'm too tired to cook. I think I spend more than I should on other things, too. Do you have any tips for someone who wants to get control of their money, but has very little free time?

Etcetera: Citywide Prayer and More Prayer

*On Tuesday, September 1, the city will again gather as the church to cry out to our Heavenly Father in unity for Him to awaken His Bride, to pour out His Spirit in power, to drive out evil from our communities, and to bring many to saving faith in Christ.

Please join us! Due to a scheduling conflict, we need to move our meeting to Crossroads Bible Church, 800 Scribner NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.

*Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 5:00 PM, Annual Blessing of the Students will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 510 Franklin SE, Grand Rapids. Area clergy, city and county officials, school superintendents will participate in this assembly of prayer covering the students as they enter the 2015-16 school year. The public is invited and all PRAYER WARRIORS asked to engage in corporate prayer

Final Words:

"I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had absolutely no other place to go."

Abraham Lincoln

"Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice."

Psalm 95:6-7
