CD Review Beacon Light
Area faith-based rap/hip-hop artist Beacon Light has a new album filled with musical and spoken word riffs and raps with numerous contributing guests. With this effort the artist adds to his arsenal as an accomplished writer/performer.
The theme of the album reflecting his renewed outlook is noted on the online video.
One highlight among the selections is "Sleeping On Me," with guest Spencer Kane. The song's video shows the care taken in conveying its message: don't go through life comatose.....wake up!
Former label mate (and fellow Grand Rapids-area native) Steven Malcolm sings on "Salsa de Fuego." Other guests include Kevi Morse (on the album's title song), Joey Jewish, Peazy and Canon.
Beacon Light (aka Brandon Clahassey) formerly attended The Potter's House Christian School on Grand Rapids' southwest side and is a Biblical Studies graduate of Grace Bible College.
The artist is debuting some of the news songs at a concert with several special guests at 7pm Fri. May 11 at Potter's House High School, 2500 Newport St. SW. General admission tickets are $10, with group rates offered. VIP dinner tickets may also be available. Visit online.
Beacon is also performing at the Big Ticket Festival in June in Gaylord, Mich. His music is available on Spotify, iTunes and other online outlets.
