EVENTSWest Michigan Christian News writer Terry DeBoer surveys the landscape for the area's faith-based arts and entertainment events over the coming month. Here are three highlights for June:

Soul'd Out Quartet – The Ohio-based Southern gospel foursome performs at 7pm Sat. June 10 at Grace Fellowship Church, 735 Buth St. in Comstock Park. The vocalists, led by group founder Matt Rankin, are accompanied by a four-piece band. Since its formation in 2004 Soul'd Out has recorded albums of traditional and contemporary gospel songs as well as hymns. Their current songs on the Singing News Top 80 chart include "God's Grace Is Never Ending" and "Holy Spirit Come." Admission is free and tickets are not necessary. *Big Ticket Festival – The annual Christian music festival begins the evening of Wed. June 21 which features musical headliner Skillet, followed by Matt Maher (Thurs.), For King & Country (Fri.) and closes with headliner Chris Tomlin on Sat. June 24. The festival is at the Otsego County Fairgrounds on Fairview Rd. in Gaylord, Mich. Plenty of music artists (60 performers in all) and other events including a Kids Fun Zone, teen activities and ministry experiences. Adjacent camping may be available. *Anthony Evans and Priscilla Shirer – The singer-songwriter and speaker-author present "The Fervent Tour," an inspirational event at 7pm Sat. June 24 at Grand Rapids First, 2100 44th St. SW. Evans will perform songs from his latest CD "Back to Life" and Shirer will draw from her new book "Fervent: A Woman's Battle Plan for Serious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer." Evans and Shirer are brother and sister: their father is the noted pastor Dr. Tony Evans.
