EVENTSWest Michigan Christian web writer Terry DeBoer surveys the landscape for the area’s faith-based arts and entertainment events over the coming month. Here are three highlights for September:

*Kathy Troccoli – The singer-songwriter/author co-hosts the “Hope’s Alive” conference Sept. 12-13 at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 100th St. SE, Byron Center. The conference designed for women has sessions from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9a.m.-12:30p.m. Sat. Included are presentations, worship, and a “Heart to Heart” session as well as concert with Troccoli. Also at the conference are singer-worship leader Michelle Margiotta and several other special guests. General admission group rates for 10 or more tickets begin at $29. Individual tickets begin at $33. Premium seating is also available. To order and for more info, www.itickets.com, 615-478-0247.

*Audrey Assad – The up-and-coming singer-songwriter (and new mother!) performs at 6 p.m. Sunday Sept. 14 at 3Mile Project, 3050 Walkent Dr. NW in Walker. Assad’s latest release is the thought-provoking “Death, Be Not Proud.” Her introduction to national audiences came with her award-winning debut, “The House We’re Building.” Also on the bill is the Florida-based worship band Bellarive with its latest album, “Heartbeat.” Advance general admission tickets are $15; at the door $18. VIP/early entry (5 p.m.) tickets include a signed poster and are $25. Order via www.itickets.com. For more info call (616) 784-8433.

*Rend Collective -The Irish-based folk-worship ensemble, fresh from a Muskegon appearance in August at the Unity Christian Music Festival, performs at 7 p.m. Thurs. Sept. 25 at Sunshine Community Church, 3300 E. Beltline NE. With plenty of Irish acoustic instruments, the band is expected to do several songs from its new album, “The Art of Celebration.” Their signature song is the driving “Build Your Kingdom Here,” sung in many contemporary worship settings. Also on the bill are Moriah Peters and Urban Rescue. General admission tickets are $15 general; early access and band meet-and-greet tickets $30.
